How much does a website cost?
Updated: 9 September 2026
In Slovenia in 2026, a one-page presentation site typically costs between €500 and €810, a business website with up to ten subpages between €1,300 and €2,200, and an online store starts at roughly €2,500. The ranges are wide because providers differ sharply in scope, experience and ways of working.
This guide summarises the published prices of Slovenian providers, explains what pushes the price up or down, and lists our own fixed prices too. No promises and no hidden line items: only numbers you can verify.
Market overview
Published price lists of Slovenian providers in 2026
For 2026, the comparison portal primerjam.si lists these ranges: a one-page presentation site €500–810 (average €690), a site with up to ten subpages €1,300–2,200 (average €1,400), a site with up to twenty subpages €1,500–3,100, and larger sites with up to fifty subpages €2,500–5,000. Online stores mostly fall between €2,500 and €4,400 (average €2,900), and ongoing maintenance between €25 and €250 per month.
The average price of an online store is therefore the same as our starting price: €2,900. We re-checked these ranges on 8 September 2026.
Providers who publish their prices list them like this:
| Provider | Published price | Note |
|---|---|---|
| Kabi | €400–1,200 | a presentation site with up to 5 subpages; maintenance from €30 per month |
| Kreativna tovarna | from €1,500 | a basic site; custom programming from €5,000 |
| MMStudio | from €1,090 | from €1,090 in the page title, from €1,490 in the body for a basic presentation site |
| neAGENCIJA | €970–4,365 | three packages; plus a monthly cost of €27–65 |
| Spletnik | €1,499–4,999 | three packages; monthly support of €59.95 excluding VAT |
| Web Center | €400–6,500 | by scope; online stores €1,800–6,000 |
| Vektor (us) | €790–2,390 | fixed packages with a published scope; an online store from €2,900 |
We copied these prices from providers' published price lists and articles and re-checked them on 8 September 2026. Some are listed excluding VAT. Check with each provider for exact and current figures. Most Slovenian agencies do not publish prices and quote only after a meeting; they are not in the table.
Our own row is the last one in the table. How the build works and what is included is on our website development page, and examples of the work are in projects. If this is a redesign of an existing site, the specifics are on our website redesign page. Before you sign with anyone, it is worth reading who owns your website: the domain, the code and the content are not automatically yours once the invoice is paid.
Factors
What determines the price of a website?
Six things account for most of the price:
- Scope. The number of subpages and the amount of content. Every subpage needs structure, copy and design.
- Content. If you prepare the copy and photographs yourselves, the build is faster and cheaper. Preparing or editing content is a separate line item with most providers.
- Design. An adapted template is faster; design tailored to your brand takes more work and costs more.
- Functionality. An online store, bookings, search, connections to external systems. Every integration adds hours of work and often licences too.
- Language versions. Every additional language means translation, entry and the upkeep of two sets of content.
- Care after launch. Hosting, backups, updates and changes. Some providers fold it into a compulsory monthly subscription; with others it is optional.
The big differences between providers, though, mostly come down to the way they work. A larger agency prices in project management, meetings and handovers between departments. A studio working with you directly often delivers the same scope with less overhead.
The range
Why does one website cost €500 and another €5,000?
Setting up a new website in Slovenia costs anywhere from a few hundred to several thousand euros, and both prices can be fair. The difference is not in the hourly rate but in how much work the price contains.
- Up to roughly €800. The site is built on a purchased template, and the provider enters your copy and photographs. Spletni uspeh, for example, publishes a one-page site for €265 excluding VAT on the Avada template, with up to 500 words entered. If your content is ready and you need a tidy presence, this can be a good choice. For that money, though, do not expect strategy, competitor research, copywriting, photography, a new visual identity or support after launch: that is not the same product.
- Roughly €1,000 to €2,500. This is where work on structure and content begins: who writes the copy, how many different page layouts have to be designed, and whether the design is tailored to your brand or an adapted template. The price alone does not tell you. Spletnik's €1,499 package lists a basic design adaptation, while neAGENCIJA offers a unique design from €1,925 upwards. Ask which of these is in the price.
- Above €3,000. More subpages and more page types, connections to external systems, migration of existing content, more rounds of review and project management. Spletnik's €4,999 package covers up to 40 subpages and the entry of up to 20 A4 pages of content, neAGENCIJA adds the work of a UX specialist at €4,365, and Kreativna tovarna charges custom programming from €5,000 upwards.
A provider can be expensive and excellent, cheap and excellent, or expensive only because they sell well. Compare scope, not figures: how many subpages, who prepares the copy, whether the design is bespoke, and what is paid monthly.
Our packages sit in the middle band: €790–2,390 with bespoke design and a scope written down in advance. What is included is listed below.
Hidden costs
Which costs come on top?
The build price is not the only cost of a website. Before you sign, check four line items:
- Domain and hosting. Roughly €40–120 per year, paid directly to the provider. The domain should always be registered in your name, not the contractor's.
- Licences. Paid templates, plugins, CMSs and external services. A reputable provider lists them separately in the quote.
- Maintenance. Across the market, €25–250 per month. Check whether the subscription is compulsory and what it includes. With us, care is optional: €29, €59 or €119 per month, and the site works without it too.
- Later changes. Ask what an hour of work costs after launch and what counts as a change of scope. This is where most of the bad blood starts.
Honestly
When do you not need a provider at all?
Not always. If you are still testing a business idea, it is smarter to start with a site you put together yourselves: tools like Wix, Squarespace or WordPress.com are entirely sufficient for testing demand and cost far less than a custom build.
If your clients come exclusively through referrals, a well-kept presence on social media and a Google Business Profile may be enough.
You need a provider when the site has to bring in enquiries regularly, when it represents a brand you are proud of, or when you have no time to build and maintain it. Then professional delivery pays for itself through visitors' trust and the time you save.
If you already have a site, it is worth establishing what is actually wrong with it before you spend anything. Our free website check will tell you; some of the findings you will fix yourself, with no invoice.

Before you sign
How do you compare quotes?
Two quotes with the same final figure are rarely the same. Before you decide, put them on the same lines:
- Scope. How many subpages and how many different page layouts are included, what counts as an extra subpage, and what it costs.
- Copy and photographs. Who prepares them, who edits them, and what happens to the deadline if you do not deliver them on time.
- SEO and analytics. On a presentation site, the correct setup (page titles and descriptions, heading structure, speed, indexing, analytics) is part of the build, not a separate line item. If a quote charges for it separately, ask exactly what it contains.
- VAT. Of the providers in our table, four list prices excluding VAT, three do not say, and none lists a price including VAT. Add 22% to a figure quoted without VAT.
- Monthly costs. Whether maintenance is compulsory, what it costs, what it includes, and whether you can take the site over without a subscription.
- Domain and access. In whose name the domain is registered and who holds the hosting passwords. If not you, ask why. More in our guide on who owns your website.
- Changes after launch. The hourly rate and what counts as a change of scope.
- Cancellation. What you pay if you stop the project halfway, and what you receive for it.
Only once the answers sit on the same lines can you see whether you are paying for more value or only for more jargon and a better sales pitch. What we put in writing in every quote is on the packages page.
Questions
Common questions about price
How long does a website take to build?
A one-page site usually takes 7–10 working days, a business website 2–3 weeks, a product site 3–4 weeks. For online stores and custom solutions, the timeline is set in the quote. The timeline does not affect the price, unless you choose a priority start.
Why are some websites so cheap?
The lowest prices usually mean a generic template that the provider fills with your copy and photographs. If your content is already prepared and you need a simple site, that can be a perfectly sensible choice. The difference shows in strategy, custom design, and in who writes the copy.
Can the site be extended later?
Yes. We build the site so that you can add subpages, another language or an online store later. Add-on prices are published in the configurator on the packages page.
Is the published price final?
Yes. We are not VAT registered, so the published price is also the final one. Most providers publish prices excluding VAT, so when you compare quotes, check whether VAT is already included.
